8 Questions to Ask Before You Book a Wedding DJ in Philadelphia
Updated: 3 days ago
Your DJ does a lot more than play songs. They run the timeline, make the announcements and keep the dance floor full. Before you sign with anyone, here are the questions worth asking, and how we answer them.
1. Are you available on my date?
Start here. We're a multi-DJ company, so even if one of our DJs is booked, we can often still cover your date. We reply to inquiries within about an hour.
2. How long have you been doing this?
Experience matters when something goes off-script. We've been in business for more than 15 years and have done over 2,000 events.
3. Are you insured?
Many venues require it. We're fully insured.
4. What happens if equipment fails?
We bring a backup of all of our equipment to every event, so a technical problem doesn't stop the party.
5. Can we pick the music?
You should be able to share must-play and do-not-play songs and talk through the vibe you want for dinner, dancing and the special moments.
6. What's included?
Compare packages carefully. Some include lighting, a photo booth or special effects like cold sparks and Dancing on a Cloud, which can cost less as a bundle than booking separately.
7. How do the retainer and final payment work?
With us, a retainer reserves your date. It's non-refundable but can be moved to a new date, and the balance is due two weeks before your event.
8. What if the party runs late?
Ask about overtime up front. Ours is $175 per hour if your event runs past the booked time.
